Jessica Bunke is a Naturalist at World Bird Sanctuary.
Jessica Bunke hails from the farming fields and flat lands of Michigan’s thumb. She attended Lake Superior State University in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula (Yooperland) where Jessica received her Bachelor’s of Science in Fisheries & Wildlife Management with a concentration in wildlife.
Since then, Jessica uplifted her roots and transplanted in eastern Missouri to attend the World Bird Sanctuary’s Avian Workshop. She joined the Sanctuary’s dedicated army of volunteers in the fall of 2012 at the Lower Site’s Education Training Center. In April of 2013, Jessica joined the staff at the ETC in caring for the variety of raptors living there.
Jessica loves walking down the Sanctuary’s display line speaking to visitors about each species of raptor and describing the individual personalities of each bird. Jessica’s best memory at World Bird Sanctuary was being able to share her first Bald Eagle flight experience with her family watching.
You can find Jessica giving “Keeper Chats” (a morning program at World Bird Sanctuary) on the weekends.
