Lindsey Day is Naturalist here at WBS, working at the lower site as well as speaking educational programs. She was hired on as a zoo show speaker in January 2017, and has stayed with us ever since.
Lindsey was born and raised in Clearwater, Florida, where she went to school at St. Petersburg College. After four years of school she graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Biology with a concentration in Ornithology.
While living in Florida, she started observing and photographing birds in the wild, as well as volunteering with injured non-releasable birds of prey at The Narrows. She has always had a passion for birds, even as a young girl she would go out and watch a local Bald Eagle nest every season. Since moving to Missouri she has started filling out her Missouri life list, finding all those northern birds who don’t often make it down to Florida.
Her favorite thing about working at the World Bird Sanctuary is being able to educate future generations about the importance of birds and their habitats.
