Tess is a Naturalist and part of the Field Studies team at World Bird Sanctuary.
Tess grew up in the St.Louis area, but attended school at the University of Minnesota where she obtained her Bachelors of Science in Ecology, Evolution, and Animal Behavior with a minor in Fisheries & Wildlife.
She has always loved animals of all kinds (with the exception of arachnids, but she’s working on that!) and enjoys getting to go out into the field to work with them. She has helped with various research projects working with bees, aquatic systems, oak trees, and frogs but birds are definitely her passion!
Tess started as a volunteer with the bird banding team in the summer of 2015 and basically just never left. While she’s all about the Raptors these days, she still enjoys talking songbird calls and identification even if she’s a little rusty at it!
