Wings for Tots
30-45 minutes | An innovative program that uses four different birds plus numerous touchable items such as eggs, feathers and wings. Wings for Tots teaches children through hands-on experience how and why birds differ from other animals and what makes a raptor unique among birds.
30-40 minutes | This action packed program combines live animals, learning and singing in a mixture of fun. It features original songs about birds in general, as well as specific songs about owls, vultures, parrots and the environment.
Critters for Kids
30-45 minutes | Want to meet more than just birds? Come face to face with a variety of birds, reptiles, mammals and even insects in this versatile program. Meet an owl and its prey or discover common Missouri wildlife.
Raptor Awareness – Our Most Popular Program!
45-60 minutes | This program gives you the opportunity not only to see multiple species of birds of prey, but the experience of them flying just inches over your head. Learn facts about why these birds are so special and what you can do to help ensure their survival. Ask about adding a Bald Eagle to your program!
Creatures of Myth and Legend – Great for Halloween!
45-60 minutes | Separate fact from fiction about those animals that make you squirm. Discover the truth with our Naturalists and the live, creepy creatures that star in this program. Come face to face with misunderstood animals and discover how they are actually beneficial for humans.
All About Eagles
30-45 minutes | Get an up close view of a Bald Eagle and learn the reasons it was chosen as our national symbol instead of the Wild Turkey. Learn a variety of facts about this magnificent creature and its natural history.
All About Owls
30-60 minutes | Over 200 different species of owls share our earth. Meet several of them while learning the importance of their existence. All About Owls gives you insight into those mysterious birds of the night. Combine with Owl Laboratory for added educational experience.
45-60 minutes | Owls have a unique digestive system. What they can’t digest, they cough back up! Have a visit with a live owl to learn about them, why owl pellets form and how they can help biologists. Dissect a real owl pellet with the help of a Naturalist. Combine with All About Owls for a truly educational experience.
45-60 minutes | Reptales is an interactive and exciting way to learn about reptiles. Using snakes, lizards, a raptor and a tortoise, this program examines the benefits of having reptiles around and dispels misconceptions about them.

Wings for Seniors
45 minutes | Ask about our live bird program designed especially for older audiences!
90 minutes | Parties include a 30 minute animal encounter, personalized cake, beverages and gift for the birthday star.
Adoption includes: Feed and care for one year, 100 bookmarks, one hour visit (at your school or WBS) and much more!
Birds, Bugs and Bark
60 minutes | Join a Naturalist on a hike through the natural wooded habitat on our property.
Bird in Hand
Ever wonder how and why birds are banded for identification? Get answers to these questions when you learn about mist-netting. Maximum group size depends on season. Can be combined with other activities for larger groups.
Level 1: Kindergarten through 6th grade: Learn the basics of songbird identification and bird banding.
Level 2: 7th grade and higher: Witness the banding of live birds and assist in collecting information about each bird.
60 minutes | Ponds support a huge variety of life, from microscopic plants to beavers. In this hands on study, you will visit our pond and see what aquatic life forms you can find and identify.
60 minutes | Take a leisurely walk on World Bird Sanctuary property to examine rocks found on ridges and near water.
Want to earn a badge? Badge programs are available for Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. Scouts spend 20-30 minutes doing activities with a Naturalist, then finish requirements on-site with their leader.
Owl Pellet Study
Learn about what owls eat through our pellet dissection. Every day owls produce a pellet composed of fur, bones and feathers that they cannot digest. Purchase a bag of 20 pellets to dissect in your classroom.
