Darcy Evelhoch is a Naturalist at World Bird Sanctuary.
Darcy grew up in Michigan, went to high school and collage in California. She has a BA in Anthropology from University of California, Santa Cruz. She also has an Associates degree in Exotic Animal Training and Management, earned from Americas Teaching Zoo at Moorpark Collage. Darcy has experience working with and training a wide variety of animals (hoofstock, small cats, big cats, raccoon family, old world primates, new world primates, storks, birds of prey, parrots, wild dogs, domestic dogs, etc) but has always loved birds. In her graduating class of 36 from EATM, she was the original “crazy bird lady”.
After years of following World Bird Sanctuary on social media, Darcy was so excited when they posted a job opening. Working at World Bird Sanctuary is exactly everything she wants to do: managing excellent welfare of birds, conservation, public education, training, and working with one of my favorite groups of animals every day. On top of that she works with amazing people and gets to share her passion for animals with the public.
