The Triangle (Common Area)
This is an area where people can enjoy quiet interaction with nature. Benches and picnic tables surround a central bird feeding station. A small water feature contributes to the tranquil setting. It is not uncommon to see chipmunks, squirrels, deer and the occasional turkey wandering through.
• Visitor’s Center and Raptique Gift Shop – This center provides a focal point for all visitors to begin their adventure at the Sanctuary. Exhibits, maps, brochures, newsletters, and a WBS Naturalist await visitors entering this building. Live animal displays, displays of animal artifacts, and a binder of our adoptable birds are also available for public viewing and use. The 3-season outdoor classroom provides an outdoor learning environment in which children can learn about the wonders of nature, while in a natural setting.
The “Raptique” Gift Shop offers a wide variety of bird themed gifts and toys, as well as drinks and packaged snacks.
• Picnic Shelters These shelters provide cover for special events or for visitors who just enjoy dining amidst the natural beauty of the Sanctuary.
• Raptor Mews – Numerous raptor mews are distributed throughout the site to provide housing for educational raptors and for wild raptors undergoing rehabilitation.
