We will release a red-tailed hawk, newly rehabilitated in our Wildlife Hospital, in a private ceremony at Lone Elk Park.

Live bird show in our Nature Center Amphitheater, followed by a behind-the-scenes tours of our “lower site”, and then a tour of our Wildlife Hospital, which will be given by one of our Senior Staff. 

Our lower site is a large, behind the scenes, non-public section of our sanctuary that includes our training center and conservation center. These areas house special birds that are not seen on display in our public areas, as well as birds that are in training for the many programs that WBS provides here in Missouri, and nationwide. The opportunity to see these areas are reserved for our WBS Members on this special day only! Our tour also includes photo opportunities with Alejandro the harpy eagle, and other special guests! Special goody bags will be distributed at the end of your tour.

Call 636-225-4390 TODAY or click the calendar below to set up your reservation for 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM or 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 24th. Your tour will begin sharply on the hour with the live bird show in the Nature Center Amphitheater.

If you are not a member at this time, you may sign up at any time here, or when you call to reserve a spot for one of the tour times.

Come see all the cool things that birds do and learn all of the ways birds impact the world, from your daily life to entire ecosystems. You’ll see why birds are simply the best animals on the whole planet!

Books & Buddies

Listen to a special story about a special animal read by one of our Naturalists, and then meet one of our animal ambassadors! 

These story times will be held on the first and third Mondays from May until October on the porch of our Rapitque Gift Shop at 10:00 am. 

While participation is free, a $2 donation is appreciated!
